Hash Bang Slash
Hi guys, my host has informed me that they will be upgrading my PHP version to 5.6 in two weeks. I'm currently using Prestashop 1.6.0.9 which I think uses PHP version 5.4 -will it be compatible or are there any changes I will need to make to stop things failing? many thanks Mark. helldog2004
It seems that PHP 5.6 and Suhosin are not working realy wel together on PS. If they are going to upgrade to 5.6, then make sure Suhosin is disabled and / or if they are willing to disable it for you. For the rest, I haven't heard anything particular. Be aware of custom modules though, they might break in the newer php versions.
Hash Bang Slash
Thanks Helldog, The host has confirmed that they won't be using Suhosing with V5.6. I'm mainly using the standard modules but I'll keep on eye on them for any problems. -I'll post back with details if I come across any issues, it might be useful for others upgrading. :-)
Unicornmodels
Hi, One.com also plans an update to php 5.6, they are not able (or willing to disable Suhosing), what problems can I expect? and how can I solve them? Thanks
Hash Bang Slash
Hi, one.com was the host that I was talking about and they have said they wont be using suhosing on the 5.6 release and they haven't heard of any other problems with PS & the PHP upgrade. I guess it depends on which custom modules you are using and whether their authors have tested with 5.6.
Barrietyrer
Also using PS 1.6.0.9 on one.com who have upgraded to 5.6 now get blank pages on many back end processes. if I turn error reporting on in defines.inc.php I get Warning: tempnam(): open_basedir restriction in effect. ...... is not within the allowed path(s): has anyone solved this by upgrading PS to 1.6.0.

bellini13
There is not enough information provided to make that determination.
Guest locen
i changed php version and now i don't have this error in 1.6.1.3. because some days ago i change php version and then i receive the same error but not randomly. all times! so i suppose that in 1.6.0.9 there is the same problem Edited April 8, 2016 by locen (see edit history)
