Kalpesh
HiI am facing a issue with the prestashop to paypal INR issue in all my stores..... Please can anyone help me out or there could be no use of using prestashop........I have done the following configuartion:-Payments Tab>>Currencies : Added Indian Rupees(INR) to the currencies list.-used “Updated Currency rates” button to update the latest conversion rates.-Set Default Currency: “Indian Rupees” – Payment Tab>>Payment Module Restrictions: Selected Dollar as the currency for Paypal.(because Indian Rupees is not supported by Paypal).I hav already done my pament module configuration. When Customer Checks out a product(with price in Indian Rupees) and chooses Paypal as the Payment option, he is redirected to Paypal site where he is shown the Payment amount in Dollars which is the number of Dollars after conversion. Now after the customer pays thought Paypal, he gets a confirmation screen and when he clicks on the Button to go back to Prestashop site, the My Orders section in prestashop shows the status of order as “Payment Error” and the Total Price in Indian Rupees as the same figure which was there for Dollars.eg. If he bought for 1000 Indian Rupees, then after convesrion, he paid around 20 Dollars (1 US Dollar = 50 Indian Rupees) on Paypal, and when he comes back to Prestashop, prestashop shows only 20 rupees paid against that order which results in the status as “Payment Error”.I checked the seller’s sandbox account, the payment was done correctly i.e. 20$. Looks like the conversion is happening only while going from prestashop to Paypal, but it is not happening from Paypal to Prestashop after payment.I have gone through the thread posted on presta but could not solve the error..... please kindly help s out....Can someone help me in this. Is this a bug or some mistake in configuration?
bambi
HiI am struggling with similar problem related to PayPal error. My problem stems from price rounding of PS. Check if there is a difference in price (even one cent !) between the cart and the price submitted to Paypal. If ther is a differance that's the problem and it seems there is no fix for that yet.You can see the thread:http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/38085/P15/#177558Hope this helps... Paul C
I'm going to sound really boring here, but can I ask that when you post a problem with paypal payments can you specify in the post the version of Prestashop you're using AND the version/type of PayPal module you're using!!Nobody can really answer you without knowing....Paul
Paul C
Actually in this case I think I know why it's happening. In the payment return the cart uses the ordering currency in the calculations - and currently you've set it to Rupees. I think if you set the payment preferences such that the PayPal currency to use is the store default one and set the store default to USD it will work. The only downside is that the customer will need to click a button when they view your site to see the prices in the local currency. The trick is to send PayPal an amount in a currency it supports and it will work. PayPal does tell you what currency the numbers it's returning are in, but I think the module currently ignores that and assumes it's the same as the store order currency.Paul

On a small order, with low price items, the difference between PS amount and PayPal amount is 1 cent and that causes the problem.OK will post to the bug trackerThanX 2 U all

Bruno Leveque
Hi Bambi,Not only the PayPal module has been modified but also the whole code of the PrestaShop core. Therefore, I advise you to upgrade to 1.3a1 or to wait for 1.3a2 if you want more stability Regards,
bambi
Hi Bruno,I guess that may be the PayPal issue will be solved on PS 1.3 alfa but many other bugs will come up with the alfa version. After A LOT of work on PS 1.25 I am almost giving up on Presta Shop. Having a functional payment method with no bugs is very basic.Still hope to find a functioning PayPal module for PS 1.25ThanX again for your help :-)
NilsvanDoorn
Hi Bruno,I have the same issue with Chinese Yuan and US Dollar and it gets really embarrassing as I always have to explain to customers that there is a problem with the e-shop system. Until now the agency incl. a couple of freelancers failed to fix that. So its quite interesting to see that there indeed was a bug and that it is fixed now. I have two questions: 1) We had to fix quite a lot of bugs in the system I have to say. So is there the risk that by useing the new Alfa version we get new or fixed ones (I can post a list here, but for example the currency conversion into 2 other currencies sometimes worked, and sometimes did not and even came up with negative numbers) show up again? and 2) As I lack IT knowledge and rely on IT support, how difficult is it to do the upgrade? Regards,Nils
