Edit maintenance mode message

Could you please help me to modify the maintenance mode message ?

 

I have modified the default message in /theme/mytheme/maintenance.tpl  . But the changes wont be appear on the page.

Hi,

Only just come across the question but if you didn't sort it.

Go to preferences - performance - change 'force compile' to yes and 'cache' to no.

Refresh your page and the wording will have changed.

Then reset force compile and cache back as before.

I just did that and the welcome page was blank. Then used a code editor and I had " ' " in the text, removed the apostrophe's and all was ok.

You should add a \ before ' if you want to use it in translations. For example:

{l s='We\'ll be back soon'}
