wierd 1.6.11 ... all images resized by HTML or CSS

Recommended Posts

Our shop is on PS 1.6.11 with default theme. Using GTMetrix, we find the all images are rescaled from BO settings;

example backoffice images setting for home default image ( 250 x 250) is rescaled by HTML of CSS to 193x193. This rescale action is executed on all images ( including theme configurator and home slider images ).

Has anyone the magic tip to solve this issue?

Thx Peter

do not understand why images get rescaled in default theme, using Preshop default (recommended) image dimensions, shown on normal pc....

The following images are resized in HTML or CSS. Serving scaled images could save 619.1KiB (42% reduction).

OK, there are some images mentioned that are used in modules (themeconfigurator and homeslider) who don't re-scale their pictures to 'default' sizes of Prestashop, as their size is different from the standard ones used (slider is wide, but not too high, theme configurator has different sizes, some like slider) It may work to resize these pictures ourself to the mentioned sizes.

The other ones are indeed default values, but apparently the analysis software uses a default browser size where it looks at the page. Say 1024 or so. The image mentioned here are a little smaller than normal, as they want to use 4 products on a single line with this width. If you resize to a smaller size, you see that the product line only has 3 or even 2 products only, where the real size mentioned in the analysis is indeed used. So because of the responsiveness of the theme, sometimes pictures need to be resized to fit to that browser width, and won't be resized on other browser widths. Therefore they use the largest size and resize smaller when needed.

Hope this helps,

pascal.
