kaitzu
Hi, i got a problem after I import almost 5000 products to my shop, there are also almost 5000 categories. If I open FO all looks ok, then I open categories. First subcategories contains about 50 cagetories, but then If I open next subcateries everything stops. Just internal 500 error, great. Those first 50 categories I made by hand, other almost 5000 categories are maded by Store Manager via product import. I send a note to host provider and they told something is using too much virtual memory. I don´t have any clue where´s the problem. How do I know what causes this internal 500 problem..I think now I need help, i´m not that expert I can resolve this.Shop what I´m using its not a official shop yet, i´m creating my shop via different folder now and after evereything is clear I just "move" the shop to right folder etc... My host provider sent this to me:Time: Tue Feb 3 02:39:00 2015 +0200Account: xxxxResource: Virtual Memory SizeExceeded: 350 > 345 (MB)Executable: /usr/bin/phpCommand Line: /usr/bin/php /xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/zzzzzzzzz/index.phpPID: 18882 (Parent PID:25471)Killed: Yes
safa
no prestasop not using a lot memory. you have a lot categories. 5000 products is ok but 5000 categories is not ok. for 345mb i think you have to minimum 2gb or 3gb ram for best perfonmence. El Patron
you should do a couple thing to sort our where you are. 1. enable ps debug mode https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/224525-how-to-turn-on-error-reporting-for-debug-information/ 2. enable ps profiling http://dh42.com/blog/prestashop-debug-profiling/ visit the affected pages, get php error codes, profiling should tell you high water mark or your memory usage 3. load this free module to know what your ps run--time php.ini is using https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/278164-free-module-display-php-environment-phpinfo-back-office/ once you have more information youself and rely less on hosting to provide you can make faster decisions on how to proceed.

Thanx for your answer. PS Debug mode I switch on two-three days ago when I got first error issues with the shop. For this current issue, i don´t have any information via debug mode. PS profiling was new info for me, I enabled it and it show some information but I just can´t understand what I need to do. If you can say and inform me more I will be glad, my head is messed up with this. Example picture from back office: PS. I don´t have FO access anymore, i actually didn´t do anything before this access "denied" came up, it just show error 500 now. Arghh... PPS. Once I saw config time was very huge. kaitzu
By the way, i don´t have .htaccess in the root of the shop. Should it be there right now or after I publish the shop?
El Patron
you may need to seek out a ps webmaster to sort out issues that you may at this time not be familiar with.
kaitzu
you may need to seek out a ps webmaster to sort out issues that you may at this time not be familiar with. Do you have any ideas for that? Perhaps I restore all one more time, and before make any imports just take a look my site with your instructions above..
kaitzu
By the way, i don´t have .htaccess in the root of the shop. Should it be there right now or after I publish the shop? Hmmm.. I checked earlier backups, there was .htaccess but now what I take a look inside of latest backup it won´t include this file.
El Patron
typically .htaccess is a hidden file (664), find option in your ftp program that 'shows hidden files'. if not there then turn off and on friendly urls to generate the .htaccess file. kaitzu
Hi again, I haven´t got any ideas to find out the way for solving this problem, Error 500 is the word of the week, perhaps on the month. I have tried this kind of actions: * Shop situation: 50 categories which are made by hand in the backoffice and there are 4 "demo" products now. When surfing in the site, pushing all the buttons, everything looks fine and works quite nicely. -->> Let´s do some action -->> I start importing process with Store Manager -> 5000products and about 5000 categories ->> Import Ok -->> I can see categories and products from backoffice -->> When I go for Front Office, I see those categories what I wanted for subcategories and some of products I can see via new products block. -->> IF I start open subcategories and I´d like to go deeper and deeper then something will happend, error 500 And after that it comes earlier and earlier, and in the end front office won´t work expect the front page * Situation: 50 categories which are made by hand in the backoffice and there are 4 "demo" products now. When surfing in the site, pushing all the buttons, everything looks fine and works quite nicely. -->> Let´s do some action -->> I start importing with Store Manager -> about 5000 categories(not any products) -->> import ok -->> I can see categories and products from backoffice --> When I go for Front Office, I see those categories what I wanted for subcategories but not all, because I forgot one thing from import, that´s not relevant now. ->> I start import again because my earlier mistake, now i just update those earlier categories not adding any new ones. -->> Backoffice Ok -->> Front Office NOT OK -->> If I try to open subcategory comes just info Page not found -->> Well, I refresh page, clearing cache etc normal actions -->> comes error pages(like error 500), blank pages and after all even first page won´t open anymore. Backoffice is OK.This time I restore only database but NO, of course not working. But then after One working day, refreshing page, clearing cache first page will open but hmm...slowly. Take a look this picture what you can find under the link: http://www.mediafire.com/view/xbbtzx2p7zmxabz/pic.jpgSomepage after I put Zopim Chat off but didn´t clear cache or anything: http://www.mediafire.com/view/4keaz8t2ptk48zi/pic2.jpg If some could tell like Step by Step instructions what I need to check?? and I´ll be happy to share this with you.PS. Preview in Store Manager looks fine everytime before Import, not messy file or anything.
