Lee
Hello. We're suddenly having a problem with one of our sites. After simply replacing our christmas homepage logo with the original one and removing a bit of text from the 'introductory text' section in the 'home text editor' module, everything has disappeared from the right column. The right column did contain the cart and top seller modules. I've tried uninstalling/installing, reuploading all modules but not getting anywhere, and have had to put the cart on the left column temporarily just so customers can see it.Has anyone any ideas / advice save us reuploading the whole store?site: www.chipspice.comthanks! tomerg3
Are you sure no one messed around with the modules in the BO.If you go to the modules position, do you still see module in the right column? This could also be caused by new code that was added which contains errors, that would stop the right part of the site from loading. Lee
Thanks, but no nothing's been changed and the modules and positions are still visible and correct in the back end.Only just realised that the footer has disappeared too, and visitor tracking etc isn't working, meaning that the footer and right column just isn't loading...just reuploaded the whole store and still having the same problem..cheers

Paul C
Disable modules one by one in the back office starting with the home text editor module and continuing through them in the order they appear in the positions list down the home hook and into the right column hook. It is important to do this in order and check the page after each is disabled. One of the modules has an error which is causing processing of the page to stop (which is why the right column and footer dissappear as they are rendered after the point that the error occurs.Good luck,Paul
tomerg3
I suspect it's the Featured Products module that is causing the problems... I would try to disable that first and see how it goes.
Lee
Hello. Thanks for all your advice.still having the same problem even though the sites running fine and we're still taking orders - have tried a few things: tried disabling/uninstalling/reinstalling/re-uploading modules, the whole store etc. - Thought it could've been the database as i have 2 installations on seperate domains using a single database and was having the problem on both domains. I set up the store locally with wamp and made sure I was using all files from a single version and it works perfectly, but as soon as i uploaded that working folder and updated permissions, the right column and footer just isn't showing again. Thinking that could be errors with the server but I've got another 3 prestashop installations running and they're all fine..Anyone any further advice? Is the logo you put up larger than the previous one? Try rolling back the christmas logo to see if the problem goes away. Often times columns disappear when there are problems with 's or CSS. It's probably something really simple since all you did was change the logo....
Lee
Hello, sorry for the delay in replying. Finally managed to figure out what the problem was and resolve it, but it took a while before realising the best way to check for errors throughout the site, So will post if it will help anyone in future.- First I downloaded a fresh set of installation files in the version the site uses (v1.1) from Google Code http://code.google.com/p/prestashop/downloads/list. All versions from 0.9.7 are available for download.- Uploaded that with the connection to the existing database to a test subdomain on our server. The right column and footer was visible so I knew it wasn't a problem with the db.- then uploaded all files and folders I needed that are relevant to the design, products, modules, languages/translations etc., and reloaded the frontend home page every time until the problem appeared.- Turned out to be the 'footer.php' file that sits in the root folder. Not sure exactly what the problem was with the file, but just replaced it with the one from the fresh set of files.thanks for everyones help.
