Multistore concept not working

I am trying to built shop with multistore feature. I am created multistore with setting up shop name, url setting and shop group name.

 

> Now While setting second shop url. It asks for physical folder url link. Its like installing another prestashop shop and    provide that link.

> If so why do we require multistore feature since another prestashop file structure will have their own admin. 

> after googling more about multistore feature. I came to point that Prestashop multistore feature doesn't work well

You dont need to install another prestashop. 

 

You just put the desired name for your second shop. 

 

If you have www.xy.com  you main shop. Then your second shop can be on domain www.xy.com/cars

 

you just put /cars/  in the field.
