Google Analytics strange problem

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I recently put Google Analytics onto my PS 1.6 website,

When I check the stats from the backend of PS it says my conversion rate is 0.29% yet when I look at the same information from within my Google Analytics account is says my conversion rate is 5.7%...

Anybody else experience this or know what I need to do to rectify it?

Steven

I have a related problem, where conversion rates in GA are recorded too high as a result of too many transactions being recorded. If I compare Prestashop and Google Analytics there is a large difference in number of transactions. GA always being between 1,5 to 4 times higher!

This happened after the episode of upgrading GA-module and during a few days not having any GA data at all.

I'm currently on the latest version....

Hello,

It's not possible that the module creates new order. In Google Analytics, could you check the value of each order ? You should be able to find order number in Anlaytics directly.

Ok, now I've checked GA. When I filter on one day (yesterday) I see 47 orders. All of the orders from Prestashop  are there, but it is also registering older orders. I see orders from 7th of Feb (10:30 in the morning) to 23:59 on the 8th (even if I only picked one day in GA). Transactions have the correct values.

If I instead select the 7th in GA I get the same behaviour. All orders from the 7th and most of the orders from the 6th.

I hope this gives you an idea what to look for... right now we are a bit confused by the statistics...

Installed new module on the 11th of February.

It started out quite promising (even if I did not check in detail), but now it's crazy again.

Looking at GA för yesterday (16th of Feb) I see transactions starting from the 15th in the evening all the way to midnight on the 16th).

What I can also see (that I have not reported before) is that a big bunch of the transactions from the 16th seems to be reported twice. I see that because the value is double and the shipping cost is double.

I hope this is a clue...

Hi again,

sometimes working and sometimes not. Here are more clues.

On the 21st and 22nd all transactions are recorded correctly. Then for yesterday's (23rd) transactions it's looking nuts. Here I find all transactions from yesterday and all the way back to the 20th in the morning.

Hello

In fact the dev was released yesterday as 2.0.7. It should fix your problem.

I have now tried 2.0.7 and 2.0.8, but the problem is the same. The same transaction is being reported with the same transaction number on more than one day.

Strangely enough the number of products sold does not seem to be reported multiple times (but the Income is!).

I just started a topic about this.

All my conversions are being recorded twice. My revenue is x2 and if I look at transactions the revenue there is also x2.

Under Overview I can see that Transactions is also twice what Unique Purchases equals.

It appears that every transaction is getting recorded twice.

Additional Info:

The data was working fine until April 1.

On April 1 all the transactions were entered twice plus all the transactions going back till at least March 23 were added again despite already being in Google Analytics.

The data after April 1 goes in as double entries at the time of transaction.

So something happened on April 1 that led to all the transactions being entered twice on April 1 and retroactively add previously added transactions from the previous week and since then all data is double.

Just download the dev branch and overwrite your current files as cedricfontaine instructed. I did that a week ago and it fixed the problem.

Since that might not be clear to everyone to get to the dev branch you go to the PrestaShop page on GitHub and then search for the Google Analytics module

This link should take you directly to Google Analytics

https://github.com/PrestaShop?utf8=%E2%9C%93&query=ana

Take these files and use FTP to overwrite the currently installed Google Analytics module.

Problem solved.
