Upgrading from 1.5 to 1.6 with Export / Import Modules

Hi,

 

After many attempts to upgrade trough the 1 click upgrade I would like to know if someone have tried through exporting data of version 1.5 then import to a new fresh installation of 1.6.

 

I have the version 1.5.0.17 and I would like to update to last version. My hosting is Inmotion.

 

My last attemps have not worked. Many question marks appears instead of images.

 

Hope you can help me as my version gets obsolete and I would like to use many other features of the new version also support.

I tried manually updating the database to move from 1.5 to 1.6 and had many headaches. There are so many dependant tables to pull across even if you just want to take across some of the data. Even when I tried to just take across customers and products I had issues.

 

In the end I found the one click upgrade worked for me to 1.6.09 (the previous versions seemed not to work.) I would recommend trying a few of the different minor releases in 1.6 through the module to see if you can get one that works, (on a local server).
