Customize Top Horizontal Menu Bar in Prestashop 1.6

I am trying to customize top horizontal menu as follows:

 

it's background should be extended in full width, also the slider also should be extended in full width like the site

or http://www.sex4fun.pt/en/

as vekia given solution as

 

add global background, and then just create container with menu 980px;

 

could vekia or someone else please help that what exactly needs to be done and where.

i am using default-bootstrap theme. sorry i didn't mention it in first place.

Looks similar to http://www.sex4fun.pt/es/

Because is not easy and need a lot of changes in the css and maybe in js files.
