Problem With Shipping Prices

Hi,

 

I am using Prestashop 1.4.  Most everything in my shop ships for a total of $6.50 no matter what the weight.  The shipping price starts at 1 lb.  But recently I added a inexpensive item, a spice seasoning that costs $7.50.  I don't want to charge the customer $6.50 to send a $7.50 item.  So this is what I did.

 

1) I set up the item so its weight was 0.5 lb.

 

2) I created a new carrier  USPS First Class Seasoning Rate.

 

3) I set that weight range from 0 to 0.80 lb.

 

4) I included US and North America for the areas this shipping is valid.

 

5) I set the rate to $2.50.

 

When I add the item to my cart, I still get charged the regular $6.50 shipping and there is no USPS First Class Seasoning Rate as an option.

 

What am I doing wrong?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated
