Managing returns from customers

Recommended Posts

I have a one page checkout were the user doesnt have to register if he doesnt choose to. However this leads to that the customer cant apply for a return since hes nog registered.

Is there some way I can enable all customers or visitors to apply for a return without being registered?

Ive tried to find some module but havent found it...

Thanks in advance!

Just force customers to register.

Really???

How many sales will he lose to customers that don't want to register? Customers don't HAVE to buy from us. Our job is to make their shopping experience as pleasant as possible, not force the customer to accept the limitations we impose on them. There is a reason why guest carts are available; not everyone wants yet another account and password with another site they may only access once.

Why do it so complicated. Just force customers to register.

Because it decreases conversion rate heavily. (proven in A/B-testing)

I would just do it manually really, no account = no frontend panel = no options. That's normal I think, so it's worth refunding and managing returns manually (in the very only superconfused prestashop way)

Ok I see, its just so time consuming since almost none of my customers is interested in signing up when they make a purchase... :/ So almost all my returns need to be taken care of manually.

I haven't even looked at returns aspect of Prestashop yet but is it possible to create a dummy customer account that could always be used for guest returns? Admittedly, you would either have to process it manually via phone/email or tell the guest customer how to log into the "guest" account. Would that be of any use? Sorry, just trying to offer some ideas despite my lack of subject-matter expertise.

Thanks for the suggestion BarryH but that is not possible.

Another thought - would it be hard to make a module that asks for a valid order reference and if enter correctly the user gets through to a page with return information? I dont want to display the return information public to all customers, just to the ones that wants to make a return.
