Just need some advice

i am going to be removing some of my categories and products, how will this impact my website as in terms on seo and backlinks to my website? will google remove my links from my longer wanted categories and products as it won't look to good if the links in google no longer work?

You will need to make sure they go to a 404 page, or even better yet to a 410 page. 

 

As far as how google will receive it, it depends on a lot of factors. There really is no blanket answer.

Yea a lot of factors to consider.

 

However, if you ever plan on using those products again, it is best to keep them. Again depending on time too... but if you delete a page with ranking, and then create it again you will have to start over in a sense to get the ranking back. Just because you create another page of the same product doesn't mean you will automatically get back that same ranking.

 

However, seo is constantly changing, and many factors to consider in terms of rankings going up or down.
