Paulito
Hello all, Just a quick question. I want a module that requires PHP 5.4, I am presently on 5.3.27. My host suggests that I speak to the developer as he thinks that some of my modules may not be compatible with 5.4. He admits that he's not too clever about these things so I thought I would ask all you generous forum members for your advice. Also, how can I check myself what version of PHP my installed modules are using? Paul
selectshop.at
I'm using Prestashop with php 5.4.36 since a half year without any problems. If your extra modules work or not I cannot say. Native modules, features and core work well (and also the extra modules I've installed - only a few). Paulito
@selectshop.at Thank you for the quick reply. To be honest I have never thought about PHP versions before because any and all modules I have bought are from well known developers so I leave it to them to make sure they work. It's my host ho has given me doubts and the fact the developer says I have to use 5.4. Paul
selectshop.at
I presume that the modules if bought from idoneous developers will not make any problem too.
Paulito
Yes, that's true of course, trusted and able developers are the ones to use. But I do not know this developer and he/she seems quite slow regarding replying to customer queries. Paul
selectshop.at
Try and verify, I don't think that modules have any effect by the php-version in use. More the core can make a problem, when old code is contained in it and not understandable anymore by new version. You can make a try. Activate debug mode and see if there are any php-warnings available coming from your modules. If not you can upgrade without any troubles.
