no verification email for downloadable product

Hello and thank you for any help you can provide here:

I have the latest SVN install and am having some problems with downloadable products:

I am able to add a product to the cart, check out, and go through the paypal process using a live (not sandbox) test account. I receive an email from PayPal saying the payment has been received. But I do not receive any email with the link to the downloadable file.

** I also have noticed that there are no orders in the admin -- only an "old" order from the original install (unable to delete this).

I have verified the correct payment module and the correct configuration (no on sandbox, and the proper paypal business account email).

Using the latest release off the Presta download area I was unable to receive any payment receipt or verification of purchase emails. Not sure why. I read here on the forum somewhere that I needed to try the latest SVN release. After having done that I've been successful.

Thanks for the reply, let me know if you think I should switch back, but I'd like to stick with the SVN I have, as it is testing fine right now.
