Yorick604
Hi,I'm trying to set up a Presta multishop and have a question about setting up the database. I have 2 domains on the same hosting account, installed presta on 1 domain, connected to the database and now im installing presta on the second domain but how do I get them to share a database ? I cant just use the same database twice but I do want both shops to sell the same items. How do I do this ?
El Patron
Hi, PrestaShop multishop is one installation many shops. This means there is only one installation and one database. Yorick604
Hi El Patron, Thanks for responding! But I still dont really get it.To test it I tried using 2 subdomains.shop1.myshop.com and shop2.myshop.com.Installed Presta on shop1 and following the steps from the documentation I added shop2 but after that when I go to shop2.myshop.com all it displays is a "403 Forbidden". Yorick604
Hi, what is your hosting control panel cpanel/plesk? DirectAdmin
El Patron
DirectAdmin Hi I am not familiar with that. Here is basic rule for pointing domain to main domain. cpanel = park to main domain plesk = alias to main domain once you accomplish this with your hosting control panel then ps will be able receive the http request of additional domain. Richard S
On DirectAdmin you also add alias domain. I am not sure you will succeed to do multistore urls as subdomain1.shop.com and subdomain2.shop.com The best way is either to use two different domains onestore.com secondstore.com or handle them as subfolders domain.com/shop1 domain.com/shop2
