jeanguy98
All products in a category I am going to import will have attributes and a lot of combinations. I sell sets of candies of my own creation. Customers would be able to select three colors of candies, the color of the container and the color of the decorative ribbon. I have 36 candies colors, 16 containers and 21 ribbons. So if I were to create this under Product -> combination tab, I will end up with 36*36*36*16*21=15,676,416 possibilities, for a single product... I even doubt it is possible to create so many entries (through the interface of course). Updating stock will be a nightmare. What would you advice for such a situation? Are there best practices? How would you tackle that? There is maybe a functionality I am not aware of. Thanks for any help.
tomerg3
This module can help you, as PS can only handle about 1,000 - 3,000 combinations per product. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/47363-module-attribute-wizard-pro-create-unlimited-attributes-combinations-choose-frm-7-input-types/
jeanguy98
I had a look at this module and it helped me figure out combinations was not the right thing in my case.As my sets of candies are prepared on demand (when I have an order), I don't need to be able to set stock for each combination. What I need is customization. In the customization tab of a product, I can only create text fields and I need drop-down lists. I fixed my problem with this module: http://addons.prestashop.com/en/front-office-features-prestashop-modules/6638-advanced-customizations.htmlThanks for your help!
