Antakarana
Hi! I have a site working with prestashop 1.6.0.9 and php 5.4 I also have another site with prestashop 1.6.0.9 and php 5.5 Now I see that my hosting has the option to update to php 5.6 Question is... does it worth it? I mean, would I experience a better performance or things like that? I have looked for some specific info about php 5.6 on prestashop but I didn't find a good explanation about if it is useful to upgrade. Thanks
Dh42
I take the stance of leaving everything well enough alone. You might get a slight performance gain with php 5.6, but there is also the chance that some custom or non PrestaShop modules could break as well.

So the performance gain would be minimun in comparison with te risk of a crash?
Dh42
For a live shop I would think so. I would do it on a dev server if it were me or one of my clients just to make sure everything works. I don't think you can roll back a php installation.
Antakarana
OK thanks for the suggestions... and what about the site in PHP 5.4 ... does it worth to update to 5.5? that would leave both of them with the same php version, but actualy I don't see any noticeable difference between them in therms of performance. Dh42
I personally would still take the same approach. 9 times out of 10 nothing bad will happen, but that one time can be hard to clean up sometimes.
