Change header color-style

Hello,

 

I have one more question, regarding to header.

 

It is possible to change style of header, like picture showing??

 

Now background image is thru the whole header. I would like to have pattern only on the sides and rest of header will be white. The header should be aligned with #center_column.

 

I hope that it is understandable.
