Paypal update 3.8.1. Error code: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

Hi all

I upgraded my paypal module from 3.6.1 to the new 3.8.1 but the front end of the website went offline and showed the following error 

"Unable to load the web page because the server sent no data.

Error code: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE"

I cleared the cache but it stayed the same on all browsers.

I restored the paypal back to 3.6.1 and all was fine again.

Anyone else had this problem. Paypal needs an upgrade by 3rd December but at the moment Its not working.

Anche a me non funziona...dopo l'aggiornamento scegliendo di pagare con paypal mi riporta il seguente errore:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at ... to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

it's same for me! I have this error:

Is there a solution for this? It took me half a workday to find out that the PayPal module caused a problem in the hook displayBackOfficeHeader.
The admin was totally unreachable by this and there was no error logged: so it was hard to find which code caused the problem.

For now I deleted this module and put the old version back.

 

Version 3.10.1 causes no problems in my case. Version 3.10.6 breaks the admin dashboard (ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE) in Prestashop 1.6.1.0!
