Setting domain after installation

Hi,

I have a server, lets say www.serverdomain.com

I have installed presta 1.6.0.9 in a subfolder -> www.serverdomain.com/shop/prestashop

I have a domain adres www.myshop.com

I redirected my domain to subfolder with my shop ( www.serverdomain.com/shop/prestashop )

 

Frontend is working

Backend is working

 

My problems:

 

My loging panel for back end works on www.serverdomain.com/shop/prestashop/admin

but it doesnt work on www.myshop.com/admin

 

The same goes for the friendly urls of the products.

 

Instead of gettin for egzample www.myshop/category1/product1

 

I always get www.serverdomain.com/shop/prestashop/category1/product1

 

I have tried to go to Preferences/SEO & URL and to SET URL for your shop Section

 

When I have:

 

shop domain: www.serverdomain.com

ssl domain: www.serverdomain.com

base URI: /shop/prestashop/

 

Everything is working

 

When I change it to:

 

shop domain: www.myshop.com

ssl domain: www.myshop.com

base URI: /

 

Front end stops to work. When I check in Advanced/Configuration Info - I can see:

INFO ABOUT THE SHOP

 

PRESTA WERSION 1.6.0.9

URL ADRES OF THE SHOP: www.myshop.com/shop/prestashop - this explaines why its not working but I have no idea why isnt it just www.myshop.com ;/

 

Any ideas?

Hi,

   I got around this issue by doing an Add-On domain in my cpanel.    Once that was added, I could use the domains URL to reach the back office.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for a quick reply. I will try it this evening. 

 

I hope it will solve more important issue  - direct link to the product...

because its not a problem for me to login via www.serverdomain.com/shop/prestashop/admin

 

but if  I would like to share a direct link to the product it should be www.myshop.com/category1/product1 

instead of www.serverdomain.com/shop/prestashop/category1/product1
