Featured Products on the Homepage module not working

I am using a new installation of PS 1.6.09 - the free module Featured Products on the Homepage is not working in any theme (version 1.6.2).  I have tried adding different category numbers, and clearing the cache.

 

Is this a common problem and does anyone have a fix ?

Hello, i think i have the same problem. 

 

What do you mean by tryin to "reset" the module?

 

One more question, when i configure HOMEFEATURED , the  "Category from which to pick products to be displayed"  says that the default is 2 for "Home".

 

I don't have any category id set to 2 in my Category configuration page. Is that normal? Does it need to be created?

i have tied installing another module Featured products on the homepage, but this module sometimes it works and some times it dosent. Only when i keep my prestashop dashboard open, this module works, else not.

@Bitesh: You should provide more information. What do you mean by "work" or "does not work" exactly? Is there any screenshot?

Hi,

I followed all the advises above and still the products of category number 2 are not shown on the first page. Now there are shown the last products.

So, I did the following things:

1. Modules&services -> Featured products on the homepage - Category from which to pick products to be displayed -2. Save.

(I also noticed that I dont have the number 2 category on the Categories list; is this number 2 category default in Prestashop 1.6.1.5?)

2. Reset the module.

3. I dont have any error related when saving or reseting the module. I have this error: 

• Bank wire: Account owner and account details must be configured before using this module.
• Payment by check: The "Pay to the order of" and "Address" fields must be configured before using this module.

4. I have many products in "Home" category.

5. I have cleared the cache in Advanced parameters - Performance

The Prestashop 1.6.1.5 store is https://www.soromania.com

"2" category is a category called "home" - it is not visible on list of categories, but you can edit it if you will hit edit button on main page of catalog > categories section

 

 

regarding to your problem

1) you said that you associated products with "home" category

2) on featured products module configuration page, you selected "home" category as a category from which module will get products to display. thats okay.

 

have you tried to clear shop cache after that?

in my shop it works with exception that the roll-over image is the wrong one - this module is basically screwed up and full of bugs and when I use same category products for my product sites, they both screw up completely

 

In the featured product module there is not much you can do, I established a special category for it and place the products in there - the first picture is correct but then it rolls on curzer over to a wrong image

default module does not have "roll over" image feautre so i suppose that you dont use default addon.

Hello, I am having a little problem:
what I want and I'm trying to do is to change the place of the featured products and put down
to be able to do that I have to go to positions and change featured products to the hook displayhome and change it up to there everything ok
but the problem is that when I change it nothing is seen and when I put my mouse over it shows me the links of the products. 
but it does not show the images or anything 
someone who could help me I would appreciate it a lot
