Finlay
Hi, I'm helping a friend escape from his current service support. This involved moving his existing Prestashop site to a new Host. I chose Hostgator because I already run several WP sites there. I followed all the on line instructions. 1) Corrected PS settings 2) Downloaded DB 3) Downloaded files 4) Created new DB/User/Password on Hostgater 5) Changed settings in settings inc 6) uploaded old DB to Hostagtor 7) deleted files from cache smarty 8) uploaded files to Hostgator Went to site. Immediately found SQL connection issue. Used HG support. They said there was an encryption error???? They made changes. Now when I connect I get a pur white screen. I try to connect to back office same white screen. Original call mumbled about hatches.php being empty Called again yesterday and was told that the files are propagating. After 24 hours still have white screen. Does anyone have any suggestions. Not yet migrated to 1.6. Tx Finlay
Dominic78
Just a thought but are ~HG using the correct version of PHP etc?
Finlay
HG offer same version of prestashop on line, so I suppose so. Their techies have had a look but can see nothing wrong. I have decided ti restart from the beginning and see if that solves the issues. Although we all no that if you do the same thing again you will get the same results so????? El Patron
If you have never run a ps on this server, then you can save a lot of time by downloading and installing a fresh ps of your version. The prestasop can run through it's various checks and report if issues. When working with prestashop and you receive blank screen you will want to obtain the underlying php error. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/224525-how-to-turn-on-error-reporting-for-debug-information/
