Silker
I am new to Prestashop and I am setting up a shop to sell clothes for children. We have LOTS of different size variations. We sell products from 25 different brands and most of them have their own size system. This means, one manufacturer may have their sizes named "74/80" and another one may call a similarly sized product just "80". A third brand may have the size "74/86". If we would add each of these, it would be very confusing for our customers to filter the products in a category view in search results. I have compiled a list of the different sizes we have in our product range, and what a mess it is... Have a look: Newborn 32 38 40 40/42 41/45 44 44/46 48 48/50 50 50/56 52 52/54 54 56 56/68 60 60/70 62 62/68 68 70 70/80 74 74/80 74/86 80 80/86 80/90 80/98 86 86/92 90 90/100 92 92/98 92/104 98 98/104 100 100/110 104 104/110 104/116 110 110/116 110/120 110/122 116 116/122 120 120/130 122 122/128 122/134 128 128/134 130 130/140 134 134/140 140 146/152 150 and 0-5 Months 1 Month 3 Months 6 Months 6-12 Months 9 Months 12 Months 12-18 Months 18 Months 1-2 Years 2-3 Years 3 Years 4 Years 5 Years 6 Years 8 Years 10 Years and 1-2 2-4 4-6 6-8 1/5 6/12 and XS S M L XL 2XL 3XL And these are just the upper and lower body products. Hats, shoes and socks would have other variations but they are not that big of a problem, I think. So, we have a huge challenge ahead of us, in finding a working system for us, and something that would make sense to our customers. We would like to create "virtual size groups" which means the products can keep the manufacturers' respective sizes (we don't have to physically re-brand them), but still in the categories be grouped into simpler size variations for our customers. This would mean, the customer only sees these sizes: 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120 etc. But in these main virtual size groups, there are many sizes (for example 74/86 and 80/86 and 80/98 are all inside the "80" size in category view. I hope my point is understandable. I am sure others have had the same problem before. Would it be possible to keep the manufacturers sizes on pro-product level but have simpler size groups in category/search/filter view? If so, how? Does anyone have experience with these kind of complicated size setups? How would you do it? Oh, it would also have to be compatible with different color variations. Thank you in advance.
