Add Product Image Button Not Working

Recommended Posts

I have added a new product, but the button for upload image does nothing.

Tried with a different browser to see if it was a compatibility issue but there was no change.

do we need to pay for extended services before being allowed to upload product images?

any help is greatly appreciated :)

I have fixed my problem,

Through File manager I erased the JS folder in prestashop on my server

Through FTP I transferred the JS Folder from the zip file back into my prestashop,

It did not work at first.

When I double checked the transfer I could see that some large files from the jquery folder did not fully transfer.

Once jquery files transferred it worked and I could upload images.

also the ht access file refused to transfer?  but this issue is corrected!  :)

Are you saying that after you have created a new product and "Save and stay" you are unable to upload a product image for it?

Its working perfectly on my site, have added 100 photos or so, no problem. Could you describe a bit more what does not happen?

For example if you click on the Browse button, does it load the new windows where you can select the file to be uploaded, does the screen "flash" and then nothing more? Do you see a yellow triangle at the bottom left of your screen, what does not works?

Unfortunately I still can not resolve.

I checked java and it is fully updated...

but at the home page of Java I see an error so I still think you are right and the issue is on my end.

I will keep working to figure it out, and then share. :)

I do however see this at the bottom of the add image to product screen? But its not anything I understand lol

Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected end of input jquery-1.11.0.min.js:4
Uncaught ReferenceError: tinyMCE is not defined tinymce.inc.js:44

Two other things that comes to mind:

1) You have installed a module that somehow crash with the files on your Presta-installation

2) You could try to clear the cache in Prestashop: Advanced Parameters->Performance: Click on "Recompile templates if the files have been updated" and the click Save.

(In my show SMARTY Cache is bugy, so i have turned it off completely).

I am still trying to fix this, The cache cleaning is probably a good idea.

Although you were right earlier and because I had not updated to windows 8.1 there was actual problems with Java software update.  but now that is all done and the button still does not work.

I will clean the cache and then see if that fixes the issue :)

Thank you for all the help you have been giving me :)

I finished all computer updates - but the problem still persists.

I notice that upon hovering the button - it lights up but it does nothing when I click it

As for the Java console error message - I have no idea what it means but In my settings I can "View Java Console" and the errors I mentioned earlier are what I see in the console area.  I don't see how to upload an image that is not already on a url or I would add the screen shot to this post.

I am so lost and so behind on my project....Is there any other ideas you may have? :)

Also have not yet installed any additional modules other than facebook.  I am updating all my current modules to see if that helps.....No that did not help either?

All the other upload buttons for images or files work fine except in the "Edit Product" Information - both the upload attachment button and add image button are like dead links

...Is there any other ideas you may have? :)

I am glad you managed to fix this issue, so after all, it seems to me this was not actually a local problem on your computer, but rather in your prestashop. It must have been some file that got corrupted on your web-site. And after you transferred files all over it got a fresh start again.

If the file htaccess does not transfer it might be some related to permissions i guess.
