PayPal eCheck and 'Awaiting PayPal payment'

Hi,

When a customer pays with eCheck, and the payment clears,  PS never converts the order to 'Payment Accepted'.

Instead it gets stuck at 'awaiting PayPal payment'

As a result my separate order management software does not pick up the order, so the customer pays but no order is shipped (until we manually switch the status to payment accepted).

Does anyone know of a fix?

Or at least a workaround where I can get notified when this happens?

Thanks!

Echeck is not an option in the module itself. When a customer makes a purchase and they are redirected to their paypal account. If they do not have sufficient funds in PayPal and do not have sauitable card backup then PayPal revert to their bank account and basically they raise the echeck automatically.

How do you register the payment? Do you need the PayPal module for that?

The paypal module is configured to accept the payment as "awaiting payment"

I think it used to mark as paid once the check has cleared (usually 7 days), but seems t have stopped in recent updates

Are you using Website Payments Pro Hosted Solution?

Yes, but it is nothing to do with that, it is a normal paypal process.

If you use PayPal your self as a buyer you will see when you go to the payment page, paypal indicates where it is going to get the money from. You can also choose

In regards to the settings:

Website Payments Standard

Use express checkout shortcut: No

Use PayPal In Context Checkout: No

Use the PayPal Login functionnality: No

Use Sand box: Live

Payment type: Direct Sales

Log file only has this: "21/10/2016 19:51:59 cart : 17308 => Resolving timed out after 30545 milliseconds"

And that is not the date the e-check that I'm looking at is from.

To be extra clear, paypal payments go directly to "Payment accepted" beside E-Checks which goes to "Awaiting PayPal payment" and never changes status when the check cleared.

That's not entirely true, it differs with Website Payments Standard in the fact that it doesn't send the capture token with the client, but instead pings the IPN.

I still believe it sends a different notification. Only a look at the logs will tell if something has changed. Could you find anything in the folder I mentioned earlier?

Don't let this post die please, its an important issue
