ginadamin
Hi all, I'm looking to switch to PS 1.6 from Woocommerce (WC), but I'm having a bit of difficulty with the CSV import of products on my test PS site. I have a product feed of around 30k products and most products fall into more than one category. In WC, i can create a csv that will create the product entry and the category entry should a new category be needed.. both at the same time... it also lets me place a product in multiple categories eg, root, subcat, subsubcat just by using basic MS excel | seperators for top level cat' and > for subcat' levels in the csv. eg: Specials Men's Fragrance | Men's Fragrance > Ralph Lauren > Polo Here the product would be placed in Specials Mens Fragrance (top level cat), Mens Fragrance (top level cat) and Polo (subcat of RL being a subcat' of Mens Fragrance) and these categories would also be created if they didn't already exist. Considering I have 30k products to import, it's not practical to create the thousands of categories/subcats' manually. My question is two fold: Can i use some sort of MS excel seperators in the csv for PS that will place a product in more than one category and have those categories created automatically via the product csv import tool? How would i create an arguement in excel to cover the subcategories.. eg: | > ? Thanks in advance for any help for a newbie.
