This link_rewrite field is required at least in English (English)

Random bug... happens sometimes on the various tabs in the catalog pages... information, association, suppliers etc... 

 

I can't spot any pattern.

 

The problem is when I click 'save and stay' the information changed is not saved. 

 

Sometimes I get the error "This link_rewrite field is required at least in English (English)"

 

and sometime no error it just reloads the page without my edits.

 

I've seen other tickets relating to this from months ago and no apparent fix. Has any whizz managed to come up with a reason and/or fix?

It's due to the Async loading of product BO tabs, there is nothing that can be done, you just need to wait for each tab to be fully loaded prior to saving

Chris, next time if it seems that nothing is saved, please try to reload the product page (Ctrl-F5 (Windows) / Cmd-R (Mac)) and see if the expected values return. I believe sometimes the old, cached values are shown, instead of the opdated ones you would expect. Reloading refreshes the cache. Hope this helps.

 

To prevent getting the link_rewrite error, shortly open the SEO tab, (so that you can see that one is fully loaded, which is the underlying problem, as Nemo explained above)
