k.digennaro
I tried posting this in the bug tracking section and got no feed back, this error is killing me because its making uploading the catalog such a pain...Anyways here is the problem, When I go into my catalog and create a product, after the product is created, you have two options at the bottom. "Save and Stay" "Save and Back to Category". When I click either button I get this error, Array ( [0] => You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1 [1] => Array ( ) ) END If I fill in the short description and make it more than the default allowed characters (400 characters) I get this error. "Hack attempt (Product->description: length > 400 for language 1)" These errors started happening out of the blue, nothing was modified on the server no files where deleted or changed. I tried trouble shooting this, first I reinstalled just the default theme for presta, not thinking it would change but wanted to cover my bases. Still got the error.Next I tried upgrading prestashop, I was using the last version, still had the same error with both the custom and default template.Thirdly I tried uploading a fresh install onto a completely different server, still the same error.Digging deeper I have found that it does seem to work on some servers but on any Apache server it does not. (I could be wrong about this but out of all the servers I tested only the Apache servers had the error).Even though I am getting an error the data is still being sent, so if I create a product and hit save it does save, but instead of taking me back to the category or staying at the page I get a nasty error message then I have to navigate back through the catalog to get back to the product.I need this error fixed and I'm running out of things to do about it, I don't know where this error is coming from or why it is being caused, I've trouble shot everything I could think of so any advice is appreciated!Sincerely,Kevinedit: anyone? any ideas at all? Work on my site has pretty much come to a stand still until I fix these errors and I'm not the only one that has them so Presta Shop got any ideas? I've submitted to the bug tracker and the forums not sure what else I can do. I'm trying to be patient but I'm also trying to run a business. I like presta shop but if this isn't resolved in a timely matter I'm going to walk from it and find something more stable.
k.digennaro
Anyone? This seems to be a fairly serious error considering I can't do anything to my site with out pulling my hair out because it takes me 15 mins to upload a product that should take 3. I've attempted to fix this error on my own I have even enlisted help from some other coding guys I know and known of them can figure out why the error is being caused. I'm about fed up with this because it's been a week and I have lost about 40 hours of work that I could have easily done in those 7 days. Any information is helpful even if you just post that you experience the same problem.Thank you,Kevin

jamiedickinson
Have you tried just adding a test item called 'a' and try 'test' for short desc. Sometime these problems come when you add symbols such as "%^&*($"
