Products 'on sale' at top of category page

First of all, excuse me for my English, I hope you understand what I'm looking for :-)

 

I'm looking for a way to show the items 'on sale' at the top of the list of products when you get into a category page.

 

I know that I could sort the order of the products manually and sort by 'position in category', but I would like to know how could I make this to be automatically changing some code.

Maybe you can have a look at this module's code how they do it. One of the order options seems to be what you need.
