Show best sellers of the month (Free Block Best sellers module)

We are using the Block bestsellers module (the free one developed by Prestashop team). It works OK, but it shows the best selling products for the whole time that the store has been active (a few years in our case). That means it shows products that are quite outdated now (not our current best sellers).

 

We would like to show the best sellers in the last month, last X days or something like that. Is that possible?

 

I've seen there is at least 1 paid module for this, but we would like to stick to the official (and free) module if possible.

Best seller module has no configuration.

You have three ways (cheapest first):

1) Modify module code yourself to show what you exactly want.

2) Buy module that can do that on Addons.

3) Hire developer to modify module for you.

Do you want sample code that you could add to the module?

Just a module modification or in the best-sales.tpl or in produstSale.php to query for the products in a certain time, thought that maybe somebody knew how to do it
