Ganalytics not tracking

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm trying to install the ganalytics module for my new shop. I followed the simple instructions of inserting the UA-XXXXXX-1 tracking code into the configuration of the module, then activated into google analytics the e-commerce switch and left OFF "Enable Enhanced Ecommerce Reporting".

The problem is that i'n not receiving any real-time data and the following - Status: Tracking Not Installed

I also checked my page's source for the tracking code and it is there. The Chrome console doesn't output any errors.

<script type="text/javascript">       (function (i, s, o, g, r, a, m) {   i['GoogleAnalyticsObject'] = r;   i[r] = i[r] || function () {   (i[r].q = i[r].q || []).push(arguments)   }, i[r].l = 1 * new Date();   a = s.createElement(o),   m = s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];   a.async = 1;   a.src = g;   m.parentNode.insertBefore(a, m)   })(window, document, 'script', '//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js', 'ga');           ga('create', 'UA-XXXXXXXX-1');       ga('send', 'pageview');       </script>

I even tried inserting manually the tracking code into header.tpl and it still didn't work. What could be the problem ?

Hi,

How long has it been since you added it? From what I recall of analytics, it can take a day or two before it starts actually registering any statistics, could just be that they're not reporting yet

Failing that, there might be a javascript error somewhere on the page causing later scripts to break.

Depending what browser you're using, you might be able to get into a developer toolkit by pressing F12, which will usually have a Console tab or section which will display javascript errors (you'll have to refresh the page once you've opened up that window typically)

Hope either of those help, if not, will need further details I think
