Problems with my emails, Host is asking me to try something, but how?

Recommended Posts

I have some problems with my emails and my webhost is asking me to try out some thing, but i dont know how to do it.

Im using PS 1.6.0.9, I have the site and emails hosted the same place and im using their SMTP.

The Problem:

When i send a test mail from BO, ADVANCED PARAMETERS > E-MAIL.

I often gets this error Expected response code(s) [250] but got response []

If i click "Send a email test" a few times it sends it just fine.

But it would me nice to have it send the email the first time, every time. :)

What my host's support say:

This is the message i got from the support (freely translated).

We can see that it can take some time from an email is delivered by the mailserver till it "thinks it can deliver the mail" and taks the responsibility for it (the error 250 response).

The time it takes are being used to test the mail against spamfilters and verify that the sender/receiver exists.

Do you have the ability to set the time in Prestashop for how long it will wait for that answer?

It would be great if you could turn on the logging of the SMTP Protocol so we can see what messages are being send between the server and Prestashop.

Again the message was in danish so i have translated it as good as i can.

My question to you:

How and where do i change the timeout thing and how do i turn on the logging of the SMTP ?
