marcusjm
As a followup to my previous query. Does this kind of theme exist for Prestashop?I am talking about something similar to the Zen Theme for Drupal where you basically have all the core elements set up with very basic styling, then you can build from there. If this theme does not exist. Would there be any interest in co-making this as a free theme for the community? Some of us wan't something basic where you can build from rather than heavy styling.I am labbing with Bluepring at home but I am not sure if this is the right path for Prestashop themes.Thank you in advance
Henrik Pantle
Well, I'm a beginner, but that sounds interesting to me. So I may learn more about about PrestaShop and that smarty thing.Additionally, building from a clean, simple basic skeleton is a way which is easy for much more people.Maybe I could write documentation, if someone takes the time to tell me what'S going on..henrik
marcusjm
Sounds good. I am not really expert on Smarty but I know PHP fairly well and CSS etc.Does anyone know if Prestashop allows sub-theming? That would be awesome. Here is a link to the Blueprint framework btw. While 960 is more popular now I like the default smallergutter width better in BP but they are both good.http://www.blueprintcss.org/960http://www.960.ws
lkkr
You don't need to have knowledge of Smarty to do something like this.Smarty is HTML with some tags that will me converted to information from PHP.You just need knowlegde of HTML and CSS.. Nothing more than that...Well.. Maybe some time?
marcusjm
This is the picture I have too. Simple if statements should be enough to determine which class to use (if we use BP/960)I have done a bit with phptemplate since most Drupal themes uses it.The idea is to keep this KISS so any fluff would have to go. I would also like to make this module non dependant so you don't have to download/install this and that to get it working.
lkkr
If the clean template is finished I'd like to have it.I'm sorry but I don't have the time to help with making it.
marcusjm
Well people to provide feedback is also nice.First step would be to see what people would expect from a theme like this. What is the base minimum?I would like to hook this up with what the poster on a previous page said about adhering to correct typography and basically focusing on ground rules for good design, then people could build from that. This is good reading http://drupal.org/project/zen (you don't need to know Drupal to follow that)
lkkr
I saw this picture, as example of a basic joomla template. This is a basic one I would like for presta shop. Perfect to build from the base.image
marcusjm
I could achieve something like that with my blueprint approach. I have to go through all tpl files obviously.
AprilRain
This is really a good idea, If I have time, I will try to work on it
marcusjm
Cool, the idea is that many with little time can create something (hopefully). Also in the constant lack of time dilemma but this is worth it in the long run I think. Hoping to save time that way .
