This product is no longer in stock with those attributes

Can someone explain if I'm doing something wrong.

I've installed the latest prestashop and am playing with the demo data.

There is a product which is a short t shirt that has 3 sizes, S-M-L in two colours orange and blue.

I've set the Medium/Orange quantity to zero and left the rest at 300.

 

I've set "Display unavailable product attributes on the product page" in product preferences to NO.

 

I'm still able to select medium orange and a message is displayed saying "This product is no longer in stock with those attributes but is available with others".

 

If I set Small/Orange, which is the first attribute(s) displayed to zero stock, the same message comes up straight away.

 

I thought setting the "Display unavailable product attributes" to NO, would hide the zero stock items.
