SarahWood
Hi, I am new to Prestashop and have been trying for a few days now to get it installed on my mac. The database connection goes fine but It keeps on failing at 23%, see attached screen shot. I have tried unloading and re-loading and done it over and over again. I have googled the life out of it and searched this forum and can't find any concrete answer to how I can get it working. Please can anyone help. I am using 123reg hosting, I have them on the case in case it is something to do with them but they are more than useless! Anyone who has had this problem out there….please can you help me as I really want to use Prestashop but am going to have to use some other software if I can't get this working soon. Thank you Sarah
SarahWood
123 reg hosting say this (see below) and want to charge me an additional £200+ for VPS hosting. We aren't going to be a big shop, 20-30 products so I am reluctant to spend more money. Is what they are saying correct? I can't believe Prestashop can't work on 123 reg normal shared linux hosting package? This is what they said when I asked to have access to the php.ini file which i read needed amending somewhere to potentially fix the installation issue "Please bear in mind that a php.ini file is created within a hosting plan. Although it is possible to host a PrestaShop application with the package it is not the best way to proceed, as most eCommerce websites require a high amount of resources that the shared plan cannot deliver having only 128 Mb." Help please………..
SarahWood
I have heard back from my hosting company (123reg) and they have done this: "We have created php.ini files in the core files of the website and in the admin folder where we have added safe_mode = Off You should be able to host a website with a few item for sale. We recommended a more powerful server if your website should be expanded in the future." It is still getting stuck at 23% and I am losing faith as I have been trying for a week now on and off.
