wwesps
Dear All- Seems like moving/porting our tested shoppingcart from earlier domain to LIVE domain messed up lots of features. List of issues & solutions tried below:- (1) The banners Hook images on Top/Home/Left/Right all vanished.Adding any Hook image to Home/Top/Left/Right from 'Theme Configurator' always gives error:An error occurred during the image upload. (2) The slider/slideshow on Front page automatically shifted to Center. Why? (3) From BO, clicking links:Modules --> Modules leads to error: [PrestaShop] Fatal error in module en: syntax error, unexpected 's' (T_STRING)Modules --> Positions leads to blank white-pageModules --> Payment leads to blank white-page Tried the following but no luck:- (1) Changing permissions of mostly all folders/subfolders in Shop to 777 (2) In your BO -> Went To ADVANCED PARAMETERS --> PERFORMANCEThen at Template compilation Chose : 'Force compilation'Then turned Cache to 'No'Then Pressed: 'Clear Cache'After this changed the above settings back (3) Tried regenerating the .htaccess but that also failed. The .htaccess file does not get generated (4) Went To ADVANCED PARAMETERS --> CONFIGURATION INFORMATION Then checked : CHECK YOUR CONFIGURATIONFrom below everything looks fine as there is nothing below "Required Parameters" Required parameters: Please fix the following error(s)Optional parameters: Please fix the following error(s) fopen pdo_mysql We have run out of all options. Definitely some problem occurred while porting/moving our Shop from testing domain to above New LIVE Url Please help Regards, Vick Edited October 27, 2014 by wwesps (see edit history)
indus
Are you on shared hosting ? Ask your host to enable the pdo_mysql extension. Also, how are you regenerating the .htaccess file? wwesps
(1) Yes, we are on shared hosting. (2) Following is our Database Information: MySQL version: 5.5.36-cll-lve MySQL server: localhost MySQL name: OurName MySQL user: OurNamedb Tables prefix: ps_ MySQL engine: InnoDB Do we still need to enable: pdo_mysql extension? (3) Firstly, .htaccess already existed as: public_html/<ourdomain.com>/.htaccess Secondly, we could not regenerate new .htaccess file using below steps:- -Login to Hosting Server , -Rename existing .htaccess to ----> htaccess (backup)-Upload an empty .htaccess-Log in BO-Check with Filezilla (or) Hosting Server if new .htaccess is generated as Logging into BO should have generated a new .htaccess<It did not get generated>-Login to Filezilla/Hosting server again, Give the empty .htaccess 777 rights-Log out of BO & re-login back in BO<Again did not get generated>Thanks, Vick Edited October 27, 2014 by wwesps (see edit history)
El Patron
tip: for new server, upload native PrestaShop and run installation, PrestaShop will then check for server compatibility. if it finds issues then you can resolve then move your built shop to remote. wwesps
Thanks El Patron. I agree. So re-installation means setting up entire shop again... That is , uploading each product/images, updating addresses etc.?
El Patron
Thanks El Patron. I agree. So re-installation means setting up entire shop again... That is , uploading each product/images, updating addresses etc.? no, sorry..just use a demo installation...let it run through the installation... then when ready, i.e. any issues resolved...then delete that and upload (ftp) your new shop and import your db... this is good idea to do if we have not used ps on a particular hosting
