[SOLVED] Difference between template file in module vs in theme

Hi Prestashop member,

 

Could someone explain what's the difference between the template file in module front directory vs. the same file located in theme directory ?

 

For example, /prestashop/modules/blockwishlist/views/templates/front/mywishlist.tpl file vs. /prestashop/themes/default-bootstrap/modules/blockwishlist/views/templates/front/mywishlist.tpl. 

 

What I understand is, when you apply the current theme, then template file located in theme directory will take effect, it's somewhat override mechanism to original template file located in module, am I right ?

yes you're right.

once you will override file - prestashop will use files located in theme directory

 

it's great feature to avoid changes in original module files :-)
