rgwhitaker
I'm running PS 1.5.6.2, and for the past few weeks, every time I log into the backoffice, I have the following message on top: You are currently connected under the following domain name primzie.comThis is different from the domain name set in the "SEO & URLs" tab. If this is your main domain, please change it now. If I go the SEO & URLs page, my settings in the Set Shop URL section are: Shop domain: www.primzie.com SSL domain: www.primzie.com I just got my SSL certificate yesterday. But this message was appearing before getting the certificate. Why is this message appearing? I want the URL to have the www. Should I delete the www's? I also have set up my SSL certificate to have the www's as well when I set it up with my host.
El Patron
this is simply because you did not connect to back office with www. do not delete anything (this is my motto). so you can connect to back office admin with www and you will not see this message. rgwhitaker
El Patron: Thank you for your reply. I have the PS backoffice bookmarked. And it is bookmarked without the www. So, I edited the bookmark and added the www. After doing that, the www appeared at the top of the login screen for the backoffice, but I can no longer login! I enter my username and password, click Login, and then nothing happens. It just comes back to a login screen. Any ideas? ********************************************************UPDATE:******************************************************************** This is interesting. I edited the bookmark in Chrome and in Firefox so that now each one has the www. I can login to the PS backoffice in Firefox, but not in Chrome. Any ideas? El Patron
clear this domains cookies, and browser cache. if this does not work, use lost password, the re-test. I had same issue as you post upgrade 1.4-1.6, resoled by redirect in .htaccess but I don't like to suggest that for now.
rgwhitaker
That's so strange that I can't login to the PS backoffice in Chrome, but I can in Firefox! Could it have something to do with the SSL certificate? I just got my SSL certificate yesterday. Now whenever I try to login to the PS backoffice, whether in Chrome or Firefox, in the login screen I get the following error: SSL is activated. However, your IP is allowed to enter unsecure mode for maintenance or local IP issues. Do you know why that issue is occuring?
rgwhitaker
El Patron: That worked! Thank you! Now, on to my next issue. Do you by chance know why I'd get the SSL error on the login page? Also, I've read some posts here on the forum that after installing an SSL certificate, that in the PS backoffice, some will have the https appear. I don't have that. Is there something I need to do? rgwhitaker
I guess I'll just post it as a new thread since it's a different issue. Thanks for your help on the original issue. It can be marked as solved.

It can be marked as solved. that's excellent self advice, new thread....before I would use SSL I would create my own ssl proxy and sell them myself..jajajaja..what a business that is... now that google is ranking better those shops with 'full' ssl, I suppose it's time for me to do something in this area... fyi: review this post for ssl http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/162017-tip-performance-https-and-keep-alive-connections-persistant-connections/
