Re-installing on a new local computer

Hello,

My computer has stopped working and I need to get my shop up and running on a new one. where do I start? My site is up and running live. Can I just download the latest version of prestashop?

Any comments much appreciated.

Hi Paul, Yes the site is on the internet but there,s nothing on my computer, no back office or prestashop files1 Do I not need to install prestashop on the new computer? I'm probably just being a little dim but thought I'd ask before I start messing around with it.

I assume your not hosting your own site, what were your login details given to you by your hosting company.

Also, if you had PS installed on your PC you must have used login details for this, such as:

Email: [email protected]

Password: qwerty112

 

Or, have you got PS installed on Local host

I may be reading this wrong but I think the OP just wants to install a local copy on a new computer.

 

He has a live copy, but also wants a local copy.

 

If I understand correctly he had a local copy but that computer died, now he wants to know how to setup a new local copy.

 

If that is correct, you need to copy all the files to your new computer, you need to know how to setup a web server. You will also need to install MySQL and PHP. Additionally you'll need to create a backup of your live shop database and eventual import that to your new computer.

 

It's all very easy if you know how.
