No confirmation email sent to client or shop email when new order placed.

No email is sent to client when they register. No email is sent to client after making an order. I do not receive any email as shop owner when order are made. 

 

I am using PrestaShop 1.6.0.8. 

I have set up php email. Sent test email. Works. 

I have downloaded mailalerts 3.4.4 set options to notify for new orders and have correct email. 

 

Also- when reviewing translations of the mail templates. I get a message that spanish is not the default language. I would like the emails to be sent in spanish. how can I change the predetermined language for emails sent to clients. 

 

No errors in prestashop log.

I have been searching in the forum and have not found an answer.
