Image slider for homepage: Pager links not working

I have the 'image slider for your homepage' module version 1.2.2.  The pager shows up fine, but it does not allow me to manually switch slides - it will always revert back to the first slide whatever link I click.  This is the resulting html for the pager:

Why doesn't it move to the correct slide?
