Problem with TM Nivo Slider v 1.5

I'm trying to get the TM Nivo Slider (v1.5) to work with the theme I purchased.

 

It was working fine with the slides that came with the theme.

 

The purchased theme came with some slides and they work fine. I'm at a point now before I launch my site where I'm starting to create my own slides. I created one slide in Photoshop, saved it as a .jpg file, then opened TM Nivo Slider in modules in the PS BO.

 

I added the image. Then added the URL for that slide.

 

When I clicked Save, ALL the slide information disappared, and now there's no slide information in the TM Nivo Slider screen. It's blank. I see a Save button and an Add a new item link. If I click the Add a new item link, the link simply disappears and nothing happens.

 

I've noticed other threads on this topic and there doesn't seem to be a resolution.

OK. After more research, I think--and HOPE!--I found a solution. If you're having the same problem, try this:

The user "thanosasimo" had a suggestion, which worked for him. His suggestion was:

 

 /modules/tmpivoslider/tmnivoslider.php
line 33:
delete the comment

it worked for me

 

So, in the tmnivoslider.php file, I noticed that line 33 had comment symbols around it. It was commented out.

 

/*

    $field = htmlspecialchars($field);
*/

 

I removed the comment symbols and it worked fine!

 

If you're having the problem I was having, you might want to give this a try!
