Peda
I can not install Prestashop 1.6.0.9 on Bluehost VPS. 1st step (Choose your language): Changing language into another language is not affect the "Installation Assistant". Pages are still displaying in my national language. 5th step (System configuration): Clicking to the "Test your database connection now" button does not showing any result. Its not working. Clicking to "Next" button, opening the "installation process page" but installation is not starting. Showing a white blank area. I installed Prestashop 1.6.0.9 successfully on my localhost. I talked with Bluehost staff, they did not give a solution to me. Only listening. I tryed to install Prestashop 1.6.0.8 version too. Got the same result. Failed. I changed "mode_dev = true" > No error messages showing. The Prestashop ecommerce is one of the best and easiest program to install and use it. The Bluehost staff surprised me. I chat the staff several times and created several tickets. They all oblivious to my problem. They do not even solve the simplest topics. I regret. Any help would be highly appreciated.. El Patron
do you run any other cms on this vps? I ask because this may be vps configuration issue for your domain. when you set up domain, did you select fast cgi(I recommend this config)/apache module/other?
Peda
After numerous tryings, I found the solution. It was so easy. For friends who encounter similar problem: Go to the page >>> WHM panel/Service Configuration/Apache Configuration/Global Configuration Check the "SymLinksIfOwnerMatch" box in "Directory “/” Options" field. David_dee
For me installation was failing with PHP version 5.6.17. Once hosting configuration was changed to 5.3.29 installation completed successfully.
