[Solved] - A simple form to allow customers to sign up for a Newsletter

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

I want to provide a simple form popup to allow "guests" to qucikly provide me with some basic information so that I can build up a bit of a database to be used for sending out Newsletters.....

I want name, email address and that's about it.

Is there something already in Prestashop or is there a free module out there somewhere??

Thanks

If you google 'prestashop subscribe popup', you see a few threads about this. At least one shows some paid module, and there are (some tries of?) free modules. Give it a try.

Also in the addons store, there are a few paid modules:

http://addons.prestashop.com/en/front-office-features-prestashop-modules/4260-popup-splash-screen.html

http://addons.prestashop.com/en/advertising-marketing-newsletter-modules/8837-newsletter-popup.html

http://addons.prestashop.com/en/advertising-marketing-newsletter-modules/6459-perfect-newsletter-sign-up.html

etc.

Hope this helps,

pascal.

Thanks guys

I new about the inbuilt Newsletter module but was having trouble getting it to work.

I have had another go at it and got it working.

Currently, it only collects the email address...is there a way to change it to also collect the person's name???

Also, it looks like it doesn't store the records in the Customer Database and there isn't a method to edit the records, delete the records or turn them into Customer records....

Hi Cotoko

Where does it store the data????

In the same table of the blocknewsletter module "ps_newsletter", you can extract your subscribers with a native module of PS named as "newsletter", with this you can export all to .CSV

Thanks Cotoko

Is there any way to collect the persons first and last name or any other information other than just email address?

Of course, but needs to make some changes in the code, we plan to include the possibility of adding inputs for first and last name on the next release, several users have suggested this feature.

regards

Hi Cotoko,

Any chance of this happening quickly...say, in the next 5 days???

I need to implement a nice Newsletter pop up but really need it to collect at least the first and last names...

I can't promise that, sorry.
