Multistore or transfer catalog

Hello,

I have a few questions about a multistore. For what I have been reading. This is one admin controlling multiple store (multi domains).

Will the multistores be seen by google (or other search engine) or will only the main domain feed the search engines.

If this is the case, is it not better to import and export products?

If so, what program/modul is the best to use for importing and exporting products/catalogs?

using multishop, one can have analytics for each domain, i.e. each domain is treated outside of PrestaShop as stand alone domain, internally it's one back office.

if you care duplicating an existing shop, then you must be careful about 'duplicate' content.

learn more here:

geo targetable domains

multiregional domains

the rule typically is simple, only one(1) gTLD (.com for example) and one or more ccTLD (.fr/.de/.etc).  Though you can also have a gTLD and a regional .eu for example or .asia.

hope this helps you think through your strategy

El Patron, Thank you for your reply.

Do you maybe have a good link with how to setup the multistore with multi domains. No virtual ones or subdomains.

I have followed some tutorials on youtube and from this forum, but I'm getting stuck with the second domain. The domain is parked, but do I need to install anything on this domain? How does Prestashop find this domain from the main domain?

I created in the admin the second store, filled the informatie like i expect but, this is not working.  For example the mainstore is

www.x.com, the second store is www.xy.com so i filled in as link xy.com but looks to simple and is not working. What I'm I doing wrong?

this is typically an issue of setting up proper dns for 2nd domain.  i.e. the 2nd domain hosting and nameserver should be specific to that domain, then park it to main domain in cpanel for example.  Once you clear this hurdle multistore is a snap.

because of wide variety of 'registrar' dns handling this can be one of the more frustrating parts of setting up a multidomain shop.

just in case you don't have this already:

be patient with this...

personally for 'typical' multishop, i.e. different everything per shop, multishop loses it's appeal for me because later upgrades would affect all shops...where if standalone installations then one could upgrade per shop....
