TurkeyFish
I have been running zencart since 2007 and currently am on zencart 1.3.9h. I have about 1500 products, 7000 customers and 5000 orders I want to migrate. I found 2 options for migration. PrestO ChangeO's migraiton module and Cart2Cart. Presto ChangeO looks to be a little cheaper, but is there anything one can do that the other can't? http://www.presto-changeo.com/en/prestashop-migration-modules/51-zen-cart-to-prestashop-migration.html http://www.shopping-cart-migration.com/shopping-cart-migration-options/1[spam-filter]zencart-to-prestashop-migration My second question is about the folder structure. I have zencart installed into the root folder of the site, mydomain.com/. So I might need to install Prestacart into a subfolder like mydomain.com/shop/. What are the current best practices as far as this goes? I assume I should install into a subfolder, but should I also do something to make the subfolder invisible so it doesn't make my URLs longer? Do many stores do this? Is my current installation into the root folder going to screw me up? I also am using a zencart module for SEO URLs. I'd like to redirect them, but I expect I may need to spend a few hours and type out all the redirects manually for products, categories and info pages. I still need to start searching for a template I like, and then get it customized with my colors and logo. I don't really know what's out there, but I assume I'll find something that works. TurkeyFish
Bump, any advice?
Dh42
I would personally use the Presto-Changeo modules. They have a migration one and also a URL redirect one too. If you are using a special module in zen cart for the URLS you might contact them to see if it is compatible. As far as the shop I personally would start it in a sub directory, then when you get ready to launch it I would just change the httpd.conf file to load the site root from the sub directory, that way no one will ever know it is in a sub directory and you can have a fall back if things go bad. TurkeyFish
Thanks for the reply! The problem with loading another folder as the site root is I also have a Wordpress blog installed that I will integrate with Prestashop somehow. The Wordpress folder wouldn't be accessible anymore. Maybe I should move everything like that to /shop/wp/ . I was hoping not to have to do that because there might be some directives in the Prestashop htaccess file that interfere with Wordpress, or something like that. And I'd also like to at least be able to keep my wordpress URL structure intact.
