Product Display - Home Page

This is probably a ridiculous question, but I am new to PS. Anyway, I am not sure how to display products on the home page, based on category or not, doesn't really matter. 

 

I am totally ok with working with templates and such, but m thinking there is likely a module config.

what prestashop version you use at the moment?

I have tried putting them into a home category but that doesn't seem to work.

My clients' products don't really change that often, so I don't want to use feature either.

Ideally, it would be great just to post all of them because they don't have so many. I would be fine with a special category which is not time dependent. Thoughts appreciated.

I am new to this system, so these things are a bit unfamiliar, as modules add a layer of UI complexity that is not terribly "intuitive". I am having some problems figuring a few other things, but thinking a little more familiarity and reading the guides should help.

However, I am liking the core, template, and options. Hopefully, I will be able to explain basic usage to my clients.  

 

Answer:

Through the "Featured products on the homepage" module, one can set the category and number of products for the home page. Default is for all products whose categories that are created under "HOME". Basically, all categories created under the home directory. Products can be set to categories via:

Catalog>Products>Associations      

 

Additionally, to remove the POPULAR tab:

modules>positions>displayHomeTab and unhook "featured products"
