cleoni
I downloaded today the release 1.6.0.9 and I noticed a very threatening popup alert that WILL cause real confusion with many shop owners: the alert message pops up when you try to install a module that was not purchased from Addons, with a scary warning that seems to indicate there’s a high potential for security-related or legal problems. It is a pity that a well know open-source script takes this kind of initiative. To me it look like an attempt to limit competition and 3rd party digital marketplaces . Do we have similar popups in Wordpress? No. Do we have similar popups in Joomla? No. And the list can continue. I tested the Italian version, and I was not even able to install my own developed plug-ins because the "Procedi con l'installazione" (Proceed with installation) button did pretty nothing. All you could do was to cancel the installation with the "Turn back to Safety" option (nice label this one!). I would like other users to share their thoughts on this matter. bellini13
You can refer to the following topic on this.. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/349584-module-sold-on-addons-store-still-receiving-security-warning-when-installing/ I have raised this concern and it was determine to be a defect in PS v1.6.0.9. It was decided that a patch was not necessary, and merchants like yourself could wait for the new release to address the issue.
