TimK
hej community, I've got the problem (also since PS 1.5.4) with PS 1.6.0.9 that my jpg images with white backgrounds get grey lines and dots... It's a problem with the change of the size... Where could be the problem by me? Anyone an idea? I can't find anything about that into the internet... :-/ thanks! PS: I use a mac with safari and pixelmator for my images... Edited October 3, 2014 by TimK (see edit history)
Dh42
What is your compression set at in PrestaShop? You might try to change the compression or switch over to using png's in the image area.

TimK
buuut, with image size of 1000px x 1000px and an compromisation size of 250 or 100 or 500 all is good I get this lines with image sizes of 997px for example ... I could change that, I know, but the system should doo the compromisation without lines and dots...

GenZai
Hi TimK, I have the exact same problem as you have On the attached image: Left one is when I upload a .jpg Right one is when I upload a .png It only put those grey lines on resized image by prestashop automatically. So the solution I see, is that I could resize eveything myself and upload them on each subfloder on my ftp 32-thickbox_default/ 25-home_default/ etc.. But I will be a loooooong job! Nobody has had this problem besides timK and me ? ps: I thought it could be my laptop screen or something, but I can see those lines on my smartphone too. GenZai
I've done some more tests. So I've found a better solution, instead of having a whitebackground I should have a transparent background and upload as PNG. The other solution is to put a colored background (let's say blue), i've done some test the grey lines still appear but you really need to know it to see it, so it won't be a problem for the customers. In my case I really need to use white background around my product to go with my theme, so I need to go with the transparent solution. I hope it helps, maybe there are better solutions but it's the only thing I could come with for the moment. moehreneintopf
Same problem here.... But we have round about 5k product pictures with white background - so it's no option make them all transparent. IF anybody found a solution for this compression problem, I really would appreciate your answer! THX
robbie007
Is there any news on this issue? If have the same problem. On my screen you only see it if you look to the screen in a sharp angle (i.e. from top to bottom). When you look the normal way, you barely can't see it. Ofcourse we prefer clean images. The largest pictures I use is 800 x 800, even when I upload them in 800 x 800 (jpg quality set to max/100) you see the grey lines/dots.
